People must register:
- When they move into a new apartment
- When they move to another city
Upon request, the Registration Office issues a certificate of residence. With this certificate, you can prove that you are registered at a specific address. The certificate of residence is often required by government agencies, employers, banks, insurance companies, or other organizations as proof of your current residential address.
The certificate of registration is generally issued only to the person concerned. It can be requested in writing or electronically.
Contents of the Certificate of Residence
The certificate of residence typically contains the following data stored in the resident registry:
- Last name
- First names (indicating the commonly used first name)
- Doctorate
- Date of birth
- Current addresses, with indication of primary and secondary residences
Extended Certificate of Residence
Upon request, additional data stored in the registration records may be included in the certificate of residence, provided that this data is necessary for the purpose you are pursuing.
An extended certificate of residence is often required when data is needed for pension matters, marriages, probate proceedings, foreign authorities, or other specific purposes requiring proof.
