Contaminated sites are old landfills and abandoned sites that may pose or are expected to pose a risk to the environment, in particular to human health. These can be: e.g. abandoned or decommissioned dumps for municipal or commercial waste (contaminated sites) or decommissioned facilities and operating areas (contaminated sites) where environmentally hazardous substances have been handled.

To find out whether a suspected contaminated site or contaminated site is located on a property, information from the register of contaminated sites can be requested from the responsible authority.

• Proof of ownership (copy of land register extract)
• Power of attorney from the property owner
• Power of attorney or copy of the order from the court or authority
• if available: Extract from cadastral map or location map
• Details of the district, parcel and plot
• Other evidence of a legitimate interest
