Landscape plans and green structure plans are instruments of nature conservation and landscape management for the areas of the responsible body or for parts of the area. They are drawn up by the responsible authorities within their own sphere of influence. The landscape plans are based on the present Landscape Framework Plan and the "Landscape Plan Guidelines". These can be obtained from the Lower Saxony State Agency for Water Management, Coastal Defence and Nature Conservation (NLWKN).

Landscape plans must be drawn up; green structure plans can be drawn up for sub-areas of the responsible authority. The content of the green structure plan is derived from the superordinate landscape plan.
