Information from the Central Trade Register: Application

Description

Description

If you need proof of your personal reliability in connection with the operation of a business, you can request a report from the Central Business Register.

A report from the Central Trade Register shows whether you have violated trade regulations in the past.

The report also serves as proof of your personal reliability, for example, if you wish to operate a business that requires a license (such as a restaurant or real estate brokerage) or a business subject to supervision (such as a used car dealership or travel agency).

The following are recorded in the Central Trade Register:

  • Rejections of applications for business licensing, business prohibitions, revocations of permits and licenses,
  • waivers of business licensing,
  • decisions imposing fines of more than EUR 200 in connection with the operation of a business, as well as
  • certain criminal convictions related to the conduct of business.

Note: The Central Trade Register does not contain data on all business operators in Germany. This information can be found in the Trade Register, which contains details about the business owner—such as name, date of birth, and address—as well as information about the business, including management, addresses, and registered activities.
