- Information and advice on ways to avoid over-indebtedness
- Clarification of entitlements to benefits not yet received (basic income support, ALG II, housing benefit, etc.)
- Help in dealing with credit institutions, banks, insurance companies, doorstep selling, etc.
- Assistance with correspondence with creditors, taking over correspondence if necessary
- Advice on personal and family difficulties, if necessary, referral to help from other providers (marriage and addiction counseling, self-help groups, etc.)
- Assistance with placement in the primary labor market
- Initiation of consumer insolvency proceedings
- To register for debt counseling, please fill out the form "Registration form for debt counseling". This can be handed in or sent during office hours.
The debt counseling service does not provide advice if you are already self-employed. In the case of liabilities from former self-employment and existing home ownership, debt counseling can provide support in individual cases.
