The construction work covers the entire area in front of the station. The existing tree-lined green area remains largely untouched by the conversion work.

In addition to relocating the bus stop and designing it as a barrier-free stop, the conversion work includes the construction of a new bicycle parking facility, the repaving of the entire expansion area and the creation of twelve shuttle parking spaces and one disabled parking space.
In addition to the aforementioned measures, a compact public toilet facility will also be built.

These measures are being funded by the Landesgesellschaft Niedersachsen mbh (LNVG) and implemented by the City of Salzgitter's Civil Engineering and Transport Department.

The entire construction area will be closed for the duration of the work. The parking spaces located there will no longer be available and the bus stop will no longer be available at this point.

A marked replacement stop will be set up in front of the construction site area and there will be no changes to the timetable. Access to the tracks will be maintained throughout.

The construction work is expected to be completed by September 29.
