"Salzgitter compact" new on YouTube

The city of Salzgitter's Medienzentrum has created a new episode of "Salzgitter kompakt". It can be viewed on the city's YouTube channel.

One topic of the program is the Region 2022 appeal, which was unanimously adopted by the Salzgitter City Council at its September meeting to reject the Konrad nuclear waste storage facility.

"According to the current state of science and technology, the Konrad mine would be ruled out as a storage site for nuclear waste," the appeal states. In May 2021, the environmental associations BUND and NABU, together with the alliance "Salzgitter gegen Schacht Konrad", submitted an application to withdraw or revoke the planning approval decision.

The stakeholders believe that the region has a responsibility to future generations to find the best possible solution for the storage of radioactive waste over a million years based on current knowledge, instead of sticking with a completely outdated project just because it was approved 20 years ago.

Other topics: 100 years of Sauingen, online appointment allocation, 1st clay construction site for children

With the "Salzgitter kompakt" format, the Medienzentrum provides regular and up-to-date reporting. Topics from society, politics, culture and sport are addressed.

Over 3,010 users have already subscribed to the channel in order to be informed immediately about new films. However, the contributions can also be viewed without subscribing. The number of individual film views ranges from the hundreds to the thousands and tens of thousands to the hundreds of thousands. A total of over 2 million film views have already been recorded.

The "television program" on YouTube can be actively compiled. The selection of topics ranges from news, discussions and documentaries to simple or elaborate information films. A search field also helps with the selection. After entering a search term, a selection of corresponding films is offered. These can also be further narrowed down using various filter options.
