Salzgitter

BürgerCenter expands offer without appointment

From Monday, June 20, citizens can come to the BürgerCenter at the town hall in Salzgitter-Lebenstedt every Monday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. for passport and ID card matters, even without an appointment.

This service is offered in addition to the spontaneous appointments available every Thursday from 1.30 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the BürgerCenter Lebenstedt. For the time being, only passport and ID card matters can be processed on these two days. Customers will receive waiting tokens at the service point in the town hall. Due to the current high volume of customers, waiting times are to be expected.

Achim Zöfelt, Head of Citizen Services and Public Order, explains: "Due to the upcoming vacation period, numerous citizens are visiting us in addition to their routine business with requests for ID cards and passports. With the additional day on which spontaneous appointments can be made at the Citizens' Center, we want to improve our service and process urgent requests more quickly. In this context, I would like to appeal to citizens to regularly check the validity of their ID documents and make an appointment at the BürgerCenter in good time to apply for a new one."

An easy and quick way to make appointments at the BürgerCenter or other organizational units of the city administration is to make appointments online at www.salzgitter.de/termine. (opens in a new tab)
