Salzgitter

Being active together

Exercise in the gym and in nature: this is the motto under which the Volkshochschule of the city of Salzgitter and the Reha- und Gesundheitssportverein Salzgitter-Bad are offering many new sports courses for everyone. The special feature: The courses are free of charge, take place in Salzgitter-Bad and do not require membership.

The first courses start in March.

Volleyball in a hobby group" focuses on having fun with exercise. An open-minded group is looking forward to welcoming new members on four Friday evenings from 6 to 8 pm. It starts on Friday, March 4.

Those who prefer to boss around in the hall are invited from Friday, March 11, from 5.30 to 7 pm. The game is played in teams on four Fridays, and the appropriate technique and tactics are quickly learned with a little practice. Indoor bossing works like curling, but not on an ice rink, but on an indoor rink. It is played in a team.

Or would you prefer bowling? On Wednesday, March 9, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., bowling will be played in the SV Union hall. It's a very technical sport whose movements have to be corrected again and again until they are correct and almost automatic. Beginners quickly learn the basics of bowling and improve their technique, step sequence and throwing motion. Anyone interested can get to know this sport in a fun way on four Wednesday mornings.

Anyone who prefers fitness in the open air is welcome at the new Lions Fitness Park. From Thursday, May 5, until May 19, there will be an introduction to the "equipment" such as the balancing course, the jumping field, the trampoline, but also slackline or calisthenics from 5 to 6 pm. There are three exercise variations for each piece of equipment, from easy to difficult. Participants choose their own variation. After training, the nearby "Plünneckenbrunnen" water treading pool invites you to cool off.

Boules (pétanque) is a great way to socialize. If you would like to get to know this game on the MTV Salzgitter court (Jahnstraße), you should keep four Tuesday afternoons from 3 to 5 pm free. The course starts on June 14 and ends on July 5.

From Thursday, June 9, from 10.15 to 11.30 a.m., the Nordic Walking course will take you into the forest behind the thermal baths with two sticks. Nordic walking is perfect for anyone who wants to improve their stamina, coordination and fitness in the long term. In this Nordic walking group, everyone can walk as fast as they can and choose short or longer routes with or without hills. Afterwards, there is the opportunity to take part in a coffee together at your own expense. Sticks can be provided if required. This sport can be discovered on four dates.
