Apply for a placement budget (SGBII)

If you are looking for or starting a new job or training program, you can, for example, have your Job Center reimburse you for expenses such as application materials or travel to a job interview.

Description

Description

Funding from the job placement budget is intended to help you find and start a new job or an apprenticeship or vocational training program. The Job Center can provide you with financial support by, for example, covering the costs of your

  • job applications,
  • travel to job interviews,
  • required documents (such as certified copies or translations), or
  • moving expenses (if you need to move for the new job).

These costs may be covered.

Your integration specialist will review and decide which costs can be covered based on your request or application before the expected costs are incurred.

You are eligible for this support if you receive basic income support under SGB II and are either pursuing one of the options listed above or planning to begin vocational training.

You may also receive this support if you are seeking or starting employment subject to social insurance contributions in a member state of the European Union (EU), a signatory state to the Agreement on the European Economic Area, or in Switzerland. The prerequisite is that you work at least 15 hours per week.

You are not eligible for funding from the placement budget if

  • the employer provides similar benefits,
  • other public-law entities are legally obligated to pay similar benefits, or
  • you do not submit job applications yourself.

Please note that you have no legal entitlement to funding from the job placement budget. Your Jobcenter decides whether and to what extent you will receive financial support. In addition, you must provide proof of your expenses.
