Salzgitter

Simply start a conversation

What is it like to live in Kampstrasse-Saldersche Strasse and around Swindonstrasse? What do residents want for their residential areas?: Answers and suggestions are collected during the neighborhood talks.

Join the conversation on September 5!

The neighborhood talks will take place on Tuesday, September 5, from 5 to 7 pm. On the market square at Schölkegraben and in front of Treff Kamp.I 36, employees of the city administration and the planning offices would like to talk to all people who live, work or feel connected to the neighborhoods.

Are there any ideas for improving the living environment? Are there any wishes for leisure activities or offers for the younger and older generations?
These and other questions are just as important as the exchange of ideas.

This feedback from everyone is an important basis for taking stock of the two neighborhoods. This is because the planners can use these answers to develop and propose possible measures.

So just drop by and get talking.

Information on preparatory studies:

The residential areas around Swindonstraße and Kampstraße/Saldersche Straße are to be made fit for the future.

The most important step is to ask the people in the neighborhoods how satisfied they are with their living situation. Are there any ideas, suggestions for improvement or criticism? All answers are important for the path, or the preparatory studies.

The path (= preparatory studies): To determine over the next few months how great the need for redevelopment and improvement is in the neighborhoods:

To this end, events and surveys will be held to gather ideas, hear suggestions, questions and criticism.

Following the kick-off event in the Kranichgymnasium auditorium on 5 July, an online survey, discussions with representatives of social and educational institutions and businesses, the neighborhood talks will now follow in September.

Detailed information Preparatory studies:

The city council has approved preparatory studies for the neighborhoods around Kampstrasse - Saldersche Strasse and Swindonstrasse. Over the next few months, the aim is to examine whether there is a need for redevelopment and change and whether this area can then be designated as a redevelopment area. This is the case if so-called urban development deficiencies are identified.

Urban development deficiencies exist if, for example, public squares and green spaces or playgrounds need to be renovated or buildings in the area under investigation should be refurbished.

The participation of the people in the neighborhood is a first step in the preparatory studies: an exchange about the strengths and weaknesses of the neighborhood is just as important for the analysis as cooperation with all the people in the neighborhood.

The results of the preparatory studies then form the basis for deciding whether the identified deficits can be remedied with the help of an urban redevelopment measure. It may then be possible to access urban development funding (federal and state of Lower Saxony program) for the implementation of the designed measures within the redevelopment area.

The city of Salzgitter has commissioned the planning offices "plan zwei" from Hanover and "PLANUNGSGRUPPE STADTBÜRO" from Dortmund to draw up the preparatory studies. Both offices have many years of varied experience in the preparation of urban renewal and redevelopment projects.

The results of the preparatory studies should be available by the end of 2023.
