Stress - no thanks! New VHS educational vacations for balance

"Stress in everyday life and at work?" If you don't want that anymore, the four new educational vacations offered by the Volkshochschule (VHS) are the right place for you. In the second half of the year, these courses will focus on health promotion and prevention in a practical and informative way. Registration is now open.

The new educational vacations offered by the Volkshochschule (VHS) Salzgitter focus on health promotion, prevention and conscious nutrition. The educational assistants Paula Grüneberg (left) and Kerstin Breshler-Moser present the innovations around these current topics.

"Mental health at work and in everyday life through active brain training!"

Content: Just a few minutes of daily brain training improves mental fitness. People can concentrate better, remember more, react faster and remain more emotionally stable at work and in everyday life.

In this course, participants gain an insight into how the brain works and what influences our ability to think. They will learn what can be done specifically to achieve the best possible input and output of brain power.

Participants apply exercises that have a positive influence on their perception of stress in stressful situations and ensure balance.

The educational leave takes place from Monday, November 4 to Friday, November 8 from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Volkshochschule Lebenstedt (Thiestraße) and costs 213 euros.

"Get out of the hamster wheel - self-management in harmony with yourself and your environment"

Content: Do as the bamboo does - because it is considered the most resilient plant in the world! It grows extremely quickly and doesn't let barriers stop it from sprouting roots. Its trunk sways in a storm and does not break. Bamboo is evergreen and simply shakes off heavy snow loads.

The participants learn, for example

  • to train their own resilience despite stressful events
  • to expand their ability to act
  • deal more calmly with the challenges of everyday life
  • increase their quality of life with energy boosters
  • In a nutshell: get off the hamster wheel and simply become more resilient.

The educational vacation takes place from Monday, November 11 to Friday, November 15 from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Kniestedter Herrenhaus in Salzgitter-Bad and costs 213 euros.

"Staying fit in everyday life and at work - preventive health promotion through conscious nutrition and a mindful lifestyle" (half-day)

Content: Achieving and maintaining a healthy body weight is a major challenge for many people. In this training course, participants learn the basics of a healthy diet and lifestyle that can help prevent lifestyle diseases such as diabetes, heart problems and joint pain. Participants will also look at their individual habits and work together to find strategies for switching to a consciously healthier lifestyle.

The educational vacation takes place from Monday, November 25 to Friday, November 29 from 9 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. at the Kniestedter Herrenhaus in Salzgitter-Bad and costs 98 euros.

"Burn is out! - Ways to more resilience through active stress management"

Content: This course is aimed at anyone who wants to strengthen their ability to cope with stress and build resilience, both professionally and personally. No specific prerequisites are required. However, openness to new approaches and a willingness to self-reflect are an advantage.

Participants will learn, for example

The basics of resilience: what is resilience and why is it important?
Recognizing and understanding stress
Building resilience: practical steps to become more resilient to stress in the long term and promote personal growth.

Information:

The educational leave will take place from Monday, December 2 to Friday, December 6 from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Kniestedter Herrenhaus in Salzgitter-Bad and costs 195 euros. Registration deadline for working people using their educational leave entitlement: 28.10.2024

In addition, this educational leave will take place from Monday, October 7, to Friday, October 11, in Bispingen / OT Hützel. Registration deadline for working people using their educational leave entitlement: 2.9.2024.

Information on educational leave:

In Lower Saxony, employees are entitled to one week of educational leave per year, which they can use for further training in a variety of subject areas. The courses offered by the Volkshochschule can also be booked as week-long intensive courses by interested parties who do not wish to take educational leave.
