The Federal Office of Justice issues the criminal record certificates.
The Federal Office of Justice is called the BfJ for short.
The BfJ has a list for the whole of Germany.
The list is called the Federal Central Register.

The list contains all convictions of individuals.
Until the convictions are time-barred.
Statute-barred means: until a certain amount of time has passed.
You can obtain a copy of your entry in the list.

This is the certificate of good conduct.

You can order the leadership certificate online.
You can also pay for the leadership certificate online.
To do this, you must submit an online application.
For the online application you need

• the new electronic ID card
• a suitable card reader.

This is the only way to know exactly who is making the application.
This is important information for the BfJ.

Foreign citizens can also obtain a leadership certificate.
This is also possible without a German ID card.
You can submit the online application.
To do so, use your electronic residence permit.
A residence title is permission to

• enter Germany
• to reside in Germany.

A guide certificate costs 13 euros.
The price is the same online and at the Citizens' Center.

You can pay online with your credit card.
Or you can transfer money via Giropay.
Giropay is a transfer via online banking.
This means that you transfer money via the Internet.

The leadership certificates are printed on special green paper.
You will receive your management certificate by post.
