SRB- "Top training company in GaLaBau"
The SRB Salzgitter trains gardeners in the field of gardening and landscaping. This apprenticeship program is state-recognized under the Vocational Training Act (BBiG).
Since March 20, 2010, the SRB has been a certified member of the “Initiative for Vocational Training.” Through this membership, the SRB commits to adhering to 12 criteria that guarantee a high standard of training quality.
The 12 Criteria
The foundation of the training commitment made by all participating companies is a sincere resolve: We want to be not just a good training company, but a TOP training company. And to ensure that this standard can be verified, there are 12 criteria that all apprentices can rely on being met:
The Foundation
- There is a designated contact person for the apprentices at the company.
- Apprentices are paid in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement. The company maintains an hour account.
- The company provides exemplary equipment, including weatherproof clothing, personal protective equipment, and a trainee toolbox.
The Process
- The trainer and supervisor set aside time for regular meetings with the apprentices. The training plan is discussed in detail twice a year.
- The use of feedback forms for apprentices makes it easier to share praise and criticism and to learn from them.
The Team
- Joint activities are offered for the trainees. Trainee days or field trips promote team building.
- Trainees also get to know other partner companies during a two-week trainee exchange.
Fostering Independence
- Apprentices are assigned their own areas of responsibility in the workshop, yard, and outdoor facilities, which they manage independently.
- A trainee construction site or a special trainee project in the third year of training offers the opportunity to try their hand at working independently.
Promoting Development
- The company actively supports professional development through additional learning opportunities and hands-on exercises.
- Regular plant tests enhance the apprentices’ knowledge of plants and contribute to good exam results.
- The instructors participate annually in continuing education programs offered by the initiative or the VGL.
