Eichendorffplatz in Salzgitter-Bad, 1960

The event in the Kuhstall exhibition building on the museum grounds is a cooperation between the museum, the city archives of the city of Salzgitter and the Salzgitter History Society.

In her lecture, Dr. Claudia Böhler from the city archive will search for traces of Silesian history in Salzgitter. Landeshuter Straße in Lesse and Liegnitzer Straße in Beinum - if you look closely, you can still find traces of Silesian history in Salzgitter in public spaces. Afterwards, there will not only be the opportunity to take part in a guided tour of the exhibition, but also to talk to each other.

Häckerle and Himmelreich, Weißwurst and Weihnachtsstollen - the local "Silesian" cuisine, its recipes and specialties, still play a role in many Salzgitter kitchens today and are the thematic focus of the special exhibition.
