Salzgitter connects - Familien-App goes online

Yesterday, Thursday, August 29, the new Familien-App, which is integrated into the website of the city of Salzgitter, went online.

The new service provided by the City of Salzgitter's Children, Youth and Family Department is geared towards people's life phases and bundles existing services and information via FAQs, i.e. frequently asked questions. In the answers, users will find important basic information, further links and a contact field so that they can pass on their personal concerns directly by phone or email.

But the app goes one step further: together with employees of the administration, various cooperation partners, parents, children and young people, questions were collected that directly address the respective topics in the sections "We are family", "For us children" or "For us young people" and answer them in the simplest possible language.

Head of Social Affairs Dr. Dirk Härdrich is delighted and emphasizes: "With the new Familien-App, we have bundled our information in a new way and made it much more user-friendly thanks to the question and answer structure. I would like to thank everyone involved in the project for their great work."

The "Salzgitter connects - local, analog, digital" project enables families to contact the administration or youth welfare providers quickly and easily. In addition to the local contact points (local), the Salzgitter-Sammelmappe (analog) has been used since September 2023 as part of the baby welcome and has since been handed out to over 900 children and their families. Nicole Palm and Sandra Sorrentino from the Children, Youth and Family Department explain: "The Familien-App has now gone online as the final digital service module."

To the Familien-App:

Scan the QR code or click on it to go to the start page of the Familien-App.

The family app can be accessed at www.familie-sz.de (opens in a new tab). It can also be accessed via the menu at www.salzgitter.de (opens in a new tab). This is a progressive web app. This is a website that has many of the features of an app. As the icon can be loaded directly onto the end device, it is not necessary for it to be available in the app stores. Users can also have push notifications sent to their device via the app.
