Is the city of Salzgitter already aware of a defective street lamp? Are you aware of illegal waste disposal in a green space or has a vandalized traffic sign already been reported?
"From now on, citizens can get an overview of the current defect reports on the website of the City of Salzgitter's Ideas and Complaints Service Point," says Carsten Bauerochse, who has been the contact person at the service point since 2016.
The municipal complaints office currently processes around 1,300 submissions per year. "We have noticed that the mobile submission of information and suggestions is particularly important and has become a popular method of access in recent years," explains Carsten Klotz, who, as acting head of the Council and Municipal Affairs department, is also responsible for the Ideas and Complaints Service.
Function of the defects app extended
For some time now, citizens have been able to submit their complaints to the city administration via the service point's complaints app.
What is new is that, in addition to the reported defect, the current processing status can now be viewed on the complaints office's website (link at the bottom of this page). "In addition, tiles appear in an interactive city map," Carsten Bauerochse continues. "However, the prerequisite for this is that the corresponding GPS data has previously been sent to the complaints office via the municipal defects app."
While 23% of all notifications were sent to the city administration via the defects app in 2017, this figure has now risen to more than half of all cases. The Salzgitter city app is available to download free of charge from the App Store and the Google Play Store .
The app supplements the familiar access channels that are still available.
Suggestions and grievances can still be reported via online damage reports or by email to ideen-beschwerdenstadt.salzgitterde or by phone on 05341/839-3200.
And anyone who prefers a personal conversation can also contact Carsten Bauerochse directly by appointment.
