Salzgitter

Lower Saxony Restaurant Act

The Lower Saxony Restaurant Act (NGastG) came into force on January 1, 2012. It replaces the regulations of the German Federal Hospitality Act (GastG) that were still in force at the time.

Restaurant in Salzgitter.

The key point of the NGastG is the transition from a business that previously required a "permit" to one that now only requires "notification". This means that if a permit previously had to be applied for to operate a restaurant, this restaurant business now only has to be notified. A permit is no longer required.
